Grinding Process effect: Improve position accuracy, dimensional accuracy, and surface finish.

Grinding Process Efficiency: The feed amount of each Grinding Process is very small. To improve efficiency, the grinding allowance should not be too large. The rough grinding allowance is usually 0.3 ~ 0.4mm, and the fine grinding allowance is usually 0.1 ~ 0.2mm.

Grinding Process Feed Rate: rough grinding 0.05 ~0.10mm, fine grinding 0.01 ~0.03 mm (suitable pre-grinding amount).

The purpose of dressing the grinding wheel: Shaping and sharpening. Shaping is to make the grinding wheel obtain a precise surface profile, and the essence of sharpening is to reduce the power load required for the grinding process and make grinding easier. Tools for dressing grinding wheels are usually diamond pens and diamond rollers.


Grinding Process Effect of Different Diamond Pens

To guarantee that the tip of the pen is pointed and the grinding wheel may be sharpened, the diamond pen should be held at a 15° oblique angle and rotated often. note on sand washing.

When grinding, the diamond pen should be positioned approximately 12 mm to the left of the grinding wheel’s center. To move the platform while dressing the grinding wheel without harming the diamond pen or creating a hazard is the purpose.

Grinding Process Precautions

  1. Gently push the surface with a fine oil stone (1000″) with a large particle size before wiping it off and using clean hands to feel whether it is clean and dust-free before setting the workpiece.

  2. Knife motion must be reversed.

  3. The smallest arc angle that can be processed by the grinding wheel on the workpiece is as small as one-tenth the diameter of a sand particle.

The choice of grinding fluid and its supply mechanism, along with the appropriate choice of grinding wheels, grinding settings, and dressing conditions, have a significant impact on the grinding process effect.

Lubrication: Reduce the friction between the working surface and the abrasive grains, reduce the grinding force, reduce the wear of the abrasive grains, prolong the service life of the grinding wheel, and ensure the surface roughness of the workpiece.

Cooling Effect: Take away the heat, prevent the workpiece from being burned, cracked, deformed, etc, and make the workpiece dimension stable.

Cleaning Function: Clean the surface of the grinding wheel, prevent the grinding debris from clogging the pores of the grinding wheel and attaching to the surface of the grinding wheel, ensure the surface roughness of the workpiece, and prolong the service life of the grinding wheel.

Safe Use of Grinding Wheels:

  • The grinding wheel should be carefully inspected before installation. Use a rubber hammer to lightly tap the grinding wheel to observe whether there are cracks or damages. If there is a cracking sound without inspection or after inspection, it should be strictly prohibited to use.

  • When fastening the grinding wheel, the screws cannot be over-tightened. When tightening the screws, it should be done symmetrically, and the tightening force should be gradually increased.

  • After the new grinding wheel is installed on the grinding machine for the first time, it must be run dry for 5 minutes under the condition of a protective cover. At this time, the operator should stand on the side of the grinding wheel rotation direction to prevent accidents.
